Baby shower ends in gunfight

BISCAYNE GARDENS, Fla., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Party crashers turned away from a Miami-area baby shower responded with gunfire, killing one guest and wounding four. Police were trying to find the gunmen on Monday, the Miami Herald reported. Tamika Johnson, the 19-year-old mother-to-be, told the newspaper that about 45 friends and relatives were at the Biscayne Gardens Civic Association hall dancing and playing games when they heard a fight in the hallway at about 10 p.m. Saturday. ''We asked them to keep the door closed, and it was gunshots from there,'' Johnson told the Herald. "We were all scared, we were all hiding.'' The gatecrashers apparently went to their cars and returned to the hall armed with AK-47 rifles and some of the party guests also had weapons, the newspaper reported.
