Pregnant mom doesn't want a baby shower

Dear Amy: I work in a midsize firm and am pregnant. Two months ago, my co-workers threw a shower for a colleague whose wife was having a baby. I sort of expect them to have one for me (but possibly not, because most people will not contribute to anything for me). I do not want a shower because most of the people at my job consider me to be evil. I am just not a happy-go-lucky person. I keep to myself and do not feel the need to share all of my business, including the pregnancy (which my co-workers found out about when I got bigger). I believe that they feel this way because I am not married and should not be pregnant (this is my second child by the same man who fathered my son 12 years ago). The father of my children and I live together. What should I do if I am surprised? I really do not want a shower or a gift.
