Florida Baby Shower Shooting Kills One, Injures Four

Miami, FL (AHN) - One person was killed and four others injured during a shooting at a baby shower held at a reception hall in North Miami. According to a statement issued by the Miami-Dade Police Department, a group of 15 people arrived at the celebration, which was held at the Biscayne Gardens Civic Association Banquet Hall on Saturday evening. The Miami Herald reports that the group had some verbal confrontation at some point with guests attending the baby shower. The group then brought assault-type weapons and other handguns out from their vehicles and shots were exchanged. The dead has been identified as Vilfort Leosthene, 26. She died at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. The injured include Roselande Dulcio, 23; Jason Layne, 19; Yves Nazien, 21; and Jason Joseph, 20.
