Library offers time for babies

She said belief in early learning explains the popularity of the librarys Book Babies Series, a lapsit program for babies 6 to 18 months old, that started this month. I think the earlier children are introduced to literacy, it helps with their love of reading and books, Clinkenbeard said. Running through January, the librarys Baby Book series invites parents and their babies to attend a story time session formatted very differently from typical sessions. Instead of just reading to their babies, parents become involved through other interactive tools, such as songs, nursery rhymes and finger-puppet plays. A librarian also is present to provide instructions to parents.
